James R. Markham Sr.

Areas of Practice


Mr. Markham has extensive experience in the banking and finance industry, working in the banking, investment and real estate arena for over 17 years prior to entering the private practice of law. His experience includes bank audit, compliance and operations experience having worked with de novo banks in developing and implementing initial processes as well as working with established institutions in reviewing asset quality, strategic planning and conducting due diligence in the merger/acquisition process. He began private legal practice in 2004 working as a sole practitioner and in conjunction with other attorneys in east Alabama. His practice areas have included business entity formation including mortgage company formation, business and personal civil litigation, real estate closings and litigation, criminal litigation, limited appellate practice, and advisory service on federal and state banking regulatory matters.

Mr. Markham is now the Attorney over the Firm’s collection department, supervising the collection process for the accounts of the firm’s diverse clientele of Credit Unions, Banks, Finance Companies, Small Businesses and Individuals. The focus of the collection process is the obtaining and enforcement of judgments to collect the money rightfully due to our client under contract and the provisions of Alabama law. As a result of these duties, Mr. Markham spends the majority of his time in the litigation of these matters, as the firm’s practice area covers all counties within Alabama.
